"The damage has been done" - Mark Henry reacts to female AEW star's angry post
AEW fans are offering public support for a top star today after she was forced to miss a weekend event due to circumstances beyond her control. Mark Henry left the Jacksonville-based promotion earlier this year, but the WWE Hall of Famer continues to back his friends in both companies. Henry is reinforcing that support today with a clear statement.
Thunder Rosa continues to be a prominent force in the All Elite Wrestling women's division. She also works indie wrestling events and appears at conventions and signings. The 38-year-old was scheduled to appear in New Jersey on Sunday for the Central Jersey Collectibles Classic Expo, but she was unable to do so, owing to travel issues.
The Unstoppable took to X (fka Twitter) on Sunday to call out American Airlines for a mishap with her flight to New Jersey. Rosa noted that she was not able to board the plane due to a broken seat, adding that the airline could not accommodate her, and refused to compensate for the situation. She also apologized to fans for not being able to show up. The tweet has since been deleted.
"Shame on you @AmericanAir my seat was broken and I was not allowed to get on the plane. You were not able to accommodate me to attend my event this afternoon and refused to give me a compensation for the trouble you put me in. And sorry to my fans for not being able to make it [slightly frowning face emoji]," she had written.
The World's Strongest Man then chimed in and lashed out at the 98-year-old airline, which is the biggest in the world. Henry, who is also from Texas, asked American Airlines what they planned to do about the situation. He tagged the airline, AEW, WWE, Busted Open Radio, iHeart Radio, the Cauliflower Alley Reunion, and All Caribbean Wrestling.
"A damn shame! This is when people don’t care about your reputation. The damage has been done American Airlines. Now what are you going to do? @AmericanAir @AEW @WWE @BustedOpenRadio @iHeartRadio @CACReunion @AllCaribbeanWr1," Mark Henry wrote.
The airline has not responded to Rosa's public complaint as of this writing. A make-up date for Thunder Rosa's convention appearance has also not been confirmed.
Thunder Rosa set for major AEW Collision match
All Elite Wrestling will return to the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia just two nights after Halloween for Collision. The episode will feature the first-ever Day of the Dead Match on AEW's B-show. The 2023 match was held on Rampage, with Penta El Zero Miedo defeating Komander and El Hijo del Vikingo.
Officials have announced that Thunder Rosa will face Harley Cameron in a Day of the Dead Match on Saturday. The Day of the Dead, or Dia de Muertos, is a popular holiday in Mexico, where people honor loved ones who have passed away.
AEW has announced two other matches for the 68th edition of Collision. Kyle Fletcher will face Komander, while Mariah May will defend the Women's World Championship against Anna Jay.
