The Elite member quits the Blood and Guts match after Darby Allin nearly sets AEW star on fire
A member of The Elite surrendered on behalf of his team to lose in the Blood and Guts match after Darby Allin nearly set a top AEW star on fire. These events unfolded on the latest episode of Dynamite. The star who quit is Matthew Jackson.
Tonight's episode of Dynamite presented the fourth edition of the brutal Blood and Guts match, which saw members of Team AEW, represented by The Acclaimed, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and Swerve Strickland, take on The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, Kazuchika Okada and Hangman Adam Page of The Elite.
The bout was incredibly violent and bloody, with bodies being destroyed and lacerated by several devastating maneuvers and a wide variety of weapons. In the course of the match, Hangman and Swerve, who brutalized each other both outside and inside the double cages, were incapacitated after falling off the entrance stage and crashing through a table together.
Towards the end of the bout, Darby Allin, who had hit Jack Perry with a Coffin Drop from the top of the cage and through a table earlier in the match, cuffed The Scapegoat to the cage inside the ring. The TNT Champion refused to surrender despite being clobbered by Mark Briscoe with a kendo stick and a steel chair. Allin then doused Perry in gasoline and threatened to light him on fire again unless he accepted his challenge for a TNT Title match at AEW All In 2024.
However, Perry remained defiant, and Matthew Jackson finally granted Allin his championship shot at Wembley Stadium. He surrendered on behalf of The Elite, resulting in Team AEW emerging victorious.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for The Elite after their loss in Blood and Guts 2024.
