The Hurt Syndicate declares AEW takeover: "There's a lot of people that would like to stop us, but they can't"
The Hurt Syndicate has finally spoken in detail following their arrival at AEW. The members stand unfazed as they look to take over the promotion, boldly claiming that no one will be able to stop them.
Each of the faction's members has made their mark during their debuts. MVP came in immediately, calling for some big moves on the roster. Shelton Benjamin came out with two dominant singles wins right out of the gate, and Bobby Lashley took out a former AEW World Champion on his first night.
While appearing on AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette, the Hurt Syndicate discussed its mission statement. MVP mentioned that its goals included making money, winning championships, and reminding the roster just how dangerous it was.
"We're here to make money, take championships, and make sure everybody understands that by far and away, we are the absolute best in the industry at inflicting pain on people. We enjoy doing it, and we get paid a lot to do it. And along the way, there are people here who have championships, and those championships mean a lot to them, and they should."
He continued by saying that they knew the fans and the locker room weren't on their side. However, according to them, this did not matter, as they knew how unstoppable they were as a group.
"But we're going to take those championships from them because I know there's no question in my mind that there are AEW fans, there's talent in the locker room, they're not happy that we're here. They're not cheering for us, and they shouldn't be. They absolutely shouldn't be, but we are here at this stage in our careers because we're good enough to be here. And there's a lot of people that would like to stop us, but they can't." [9:30-10:33]
Hurt Syndicate teases at having their first female member
A few days ago, MVP hinted at wanting to bring in a certain female AEW star to the Hurt Syndicate after their in-person meeting at a convention. This would be Queen Aminata.
The star is known for her strong strikes and ability to compete with anyone on the roster. Despite not garnering many accolades so far, she has proven that she is one of the heavy hitters on the roster.
On X/Twitter, she posted a picture with Skye Blue, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. She hinted at a possible collaboration with the Hurt Syndicate, and the former WWE veteran quickly agreed with this, asking her if she owned a suit.
With the original members of the group now together in AEW, it doesn't seem that the business is done just yet, as MVP has been constantly hinting at expanding it. It remains to be seen who ends up accepting his offer.
