The Young Bucks make a shocking return; but not in AEW
Former AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks made a surprising return amid their absence from the promotion. The duo has been away from TV for the past few weeks now.
The Young Bucks lost their AEW World Tag Team Title to Private Party on an episode of Dynamite in October after a great match. After their loss, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson fled the arena to avoid dealing with Jon Moxley and The Death Riders' backstage assault on multiple personalities.
The Bucks have been away from TV since fleeing the arena more than a month ago. Meanwhile, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson made their return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. During the recent NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2024 event taking place in California, The Bucks surprisingly showed up to save their partner, Jack Perry.
On the show, Jack Perry teamed up with the AEW International Champion, Konosuke Takeshita to defeat the team of Shingo Takagi and Yota Tsuji. After the match, Perry was outnumbered before The Young Bucks showed up to help him and clear the ring with a superkick as well.
This was Matthew and Nicholas Jackson's first appearance at a New Japan Pro-Wrestling event in a long time. The duo has yet to wrestle in Japan since their last match in the promotion a few years back.
The Young Bucks are set for a major match on NJPW in January 2025
A few months ago, The Young Bucks announced that they would make their in-ring return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling after years at the upcoming Wrestle Dynasty event on January 5, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome.
The decorated tag team has been announced for the event as they will take on the team of Great-O-Khan and his mystery partner with the vacant IWGP Tag Team Title on the line.
Moreover, it remains to be seen whether Matthew and Nicholas Jackson manage to win the IWGP Tag Team Title and when they will return on AEW TV.
