The Young Bucks receive a huge challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships after Blood & Guts 2024
The Young Bucks competed in a Blood and Guts match this week on Dynamite. Following the match, they received a huge challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships.
The Acclaimed are by far the best homegrown tag team in AEW. They quickly gained popularity due to their personality and charisma. They even proved that they are a capable tag team by winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship and the AEW Trios Championship.
Given their in-ring skills and acumen, they were added to Team AEW for Blood and Guts 2024 against The Elite. After a brutal match, Team AEW emerged victorious. Following the match, The Acclaimed took shots at The Young Bucks and even challenged them for the tag team titles.
"We still have a tag title shot. So, I suggest you heal up as quickly as you can because we're coming for you The Young Bucks. We're coming for you and we're coming for those titles and we're going to become the next two-time AEW Tag Team Champions," said Anthony Bowens [3:20 - 3:40]
Matt Hardy opens up about the Young Bucks
The Bucks are known for breathing a breath of fresh air into tag team wrestling. Just when tag team wrestling was getting monotonous, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson changed the game with their flashy moveset and incredible flips. They brought tag team wrestling to the forefront of the industry.
Therefore, when Simon Miller of Whatculture Wrestling shared an appreciation post, Matt Hardy responded to it by agreeing that The Bucks deserve their fair share of flowers.
"You’re correct, @SimonMiller316. Without the Young Bucks (and The Elite) AEW looks very, very different if it actually materializes. Besides being 1 of the greatest tag teams ever, they both have outstanding visions & understandings of the industry. I said they deserved their flowers before AEW, while I was at AEW & I will post-AEW, because it’s a hard truth."
It will be interesting to see if fans will get another showdown between The Hardys and The Bucks.
