"There's a lot of truth to it," says AEW star about her heated promo on Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks)

Mercedes Moné (FKA Sasha Banks) arrived in AEW in March 2024 and, a few months later, started a feud with one of the company's top female stars – Britt Baker. They also had a singles match two months ago.

The Doctor returned to AEW after a 10-month hiatus at 2024 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door and confronted The CEO. The two ladies squared off against each other at AEW All In London 2024 for AEW TBS Championship, which the latter won.

Britt Baker recently sat down for an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of FightFul, where she reflected on working with Mercedes Moné. She also commented on her heated promo with her on 8/21/24 AEW Dynamite, featuring the contract signing for their All In match.

“I really liked the promo that Mercedes (Moné) and I had, the contract signing. Where was that? Wales? Cardiff? Yeah. I really liked that. First off, the crowd, insane, nuclear. We got to kick off the show but also, there’s a lot of truth to it. When I say Mercedes is one of my massive inspirations and a reason why I wrestle today, I mean that. I’m such a fan of her.”

She added:

“It was surreal to me to get to work with her on such a huge platform. It’s still surreal to me and I’m super grateful that she also gave me that opportunity, that like, hey, that’s Britt Baker. I’m gonna work with her. If you would have told me that back in 2015 when I started wrestling, I would have been like, pshh, Mercedes knows who I am? What? It’s crazy so, it’s just evolution…” [H/T: POST Wrestling]

Mercedes Moné names Charlotte Flair as one of her strongest opponents

Mercedes Moné has faced many talented female superstars in her career. According to her, Charlotte Flair has been one of her strongest opponents so far. In a recent edition of Moné Mag, she heavily praised The Queen.

"Without a doubt, Charlotte takes the top spot. This woman doesn’t even know her own strength! She’s a super athlete, and I honestly think she’s still discovering just how physically powerful she is. Charlotte is one of those wrestlers who can throw you around the ring without you even needing to assist," Mercedes Moné wrote. [H/T: Fightful]
