"There's something there" - Former WWE star addresses rumors of Shane McMahon's AEW debut
A former WWE Superstar has just given his thoughts on the rumors and speculation that Shane McMahon could be involved in one of AEW's major storylines. This would be him being teased as leading the Blackpool Combat Club. The ex-WWE star is Nic Nemeth (FKA Dolph Ziggler).
A few days ago on Dynamite, Jon Moxley cut a promo on Bryan Danielson while the rest of BCC restrained him. Mox claimed that if it was up to him, he would have put Bryan out of his misery years ago. He mentioned that everything was bigger than himself, which fueled rumors of him working under someone like Shane.
In a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio, Nic Nemeth (FKA Dolph Ziggler) discussed the subtle teases Jon Moxley made on Dynamite and how people on the internet speculated it was Shane McMahon.
He enjoyed the discourses and the anticipation of what was coming next. He believed something was there and liked how it involved big names on the roster.
"The first thing everyone, I was reading online, is going for — is Shane McMahon involved? Is there some split in the company? That's a fun thing to say. Maybe. No matter what the case, again, I love when there's that anticipation of we don't know. There's something there and it is with the top guys in the business." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
Mercedes Moné wants to see Shane McMahon in AEW
Several big names on the roster recently ran into Shane O'Mac in person, the first of whom was Mercedes Moné. These interactions began the rumors of him possibly coming into the promotion.
During a recent edition of her Mercedes Mag Newsletter, Mercedes talked about Shane McMahon and how, with his passion for wrestling, he could have some unfinished business. She wanted to see him in AEW because she believed that he belonged in the industry, and she would be sad to see him leave it for good.
"Seeing Shane's incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think is Shane coming to AEW? I'm here for it, and I'm sure our roster is too. Regardless, it just seems like Shane belongs in the wrestling business. I admit if he doesn't come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him. I know what it's like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way."
At this point, everything remains speculation, and fans should just wait for reports on whether he intends to sign with the company and what role he could play moving forward.
