"There was talk of bringing me back at one point," admits AEW star on working with WWE

The WWE Universe almost saw the return of an AEW star to the Stamford-based promotion in 2012. The star in question would be Scorpio Sky.

Sky worked with the Stamford-based promotion for a brief period in 2012. He played the role of a character named Harold in Daniel Bryan's anger management class. Kane was also involved in the storyline.

The star also made an appearance at Summer Slam 2013 and was featured as a firefighter during the "Ring of Fire" match between Kane and Bray Wyatt.

Speaking on the latest edition of Chris Van Vleit's Insight podcast, the two-time TNT Champion revealed that WWE had called him to continue his role in Bryan Danielson's anger management gimmick. However, the plan never fell through.

"No, but there was talk of bringing me back though at one point. They called me maybe a month or so later and they said, Hey, we’re interested in bringing you to Stamford to shoot some more anger management stuff. And I was like, Oh, cool. Yeah, I’m available. And they said, okay, but first, we have to know what is your relationship with TNA. And I was like, I have no relationship. I didn’t have a contract. I just did a couple of dates for them and that’s it. And they were like, okay, and I never heard anything else," he said. [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]

Former AEW TNT Champion set to return soon

Scorpio Sky has been away from television since last year after sustaining an injury in October. The last time he competed in a match on AEW TV was in September against Andrade El Idolo on Collision. Sky's last wrestling match was at ROH on HonorClub, where he defeated Darius Martin.

Earlier in May, AEW aired a video package on Rampage featuring the 41-year-old star. In the clip, he talked about his return. Seeing the clip, it looks like Sky will return to the promotion as a babyface. The exact date of his return hasn't been announced yet.
