TNA's Matt Hardy reveals he was aware of a recent AEW title change before it happened, spoke to former colleagues
AEW has presented several big pay-per-view events and special Dynamite episodes in recent months, such as All In, WrestleDream, Title Tuesday, and Fright Night. The period of momentum has resulted in the crowning of new champions, and Matt Hardy has just revealed an interesting scoop on one recent shocker.
The Hardys became three-time TNA World Tag Team Champions a week ago by dethroning The System at Bound For Glory, in a Full Metal Mayhem Match that included ABC. The win came four days before two of Matt's former associates captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship for the first time, Private Party.
Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy finally dethroned The Young Bucks on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite. Big Money Matt spoke with his Hardy Family Office stablemates before Fright Night, and seemingly received a piece of insider information.
On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the 50-year-old talked about Private Party's huge World Tag Team Championship win over The Young Bucks. He noted how his former associates' massive victory happening shortly after The Hardys' triumph was very cool.
"I was pretty positive they were gonna win from speaking to them. In pro wrestling though, it is never official until it actually happens and it goes down in real time. That was great, I know I made a quick post about them and I even acknowledged how it cool it was that we had just won the TNA tag team titles and they won the AEW tag team titles. Very, very cool, all of Hardy Party is strapped up now with a little bit of gold on the shoulder," Matt Hardy said. [H/T to Fightful]
Private Party is set to defend the titles at AEW Full Gear on November 23. They will defend in a Fatal Four-Way clash against the following teams: Top Flight or The Outrunners; The Acclaimed or La Facción Ingobernable; The House of Black or FTR.
