Tommy Dreamer comments on AEW star possibly returning as Tony Khan's "savior"

This week's edition of Dynamite saw Tony Khan get attacked by The Young Bucks and Jack Perry. And according to Tommy Dreamer, an absent AEW star could make his return to help Khan exact revenge on his attackers.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) has been MIA from AEW television since December 2023. He was last seen on the Worlds End PPV, where he lost his World Championship to Samoa Joe.

Despite being removed from the roster page, reports have confirmed that The Salt of The Eart is still with the company. In the Dynasty post media scrum, the AEW CEO spoke about wanting to bring him back soon. But fans will have to wait a little longer as he is still nursing some injuries.

Meanwhile, speaking on the recent edition of the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer commented on the possibility of MJF returning to AEW as Tony Khan's "savior."

"If MJF comes back as your savior, that's something," he said. [H/T: WrestlingInc]

Tommy Dreamer wants Kenny Omega to return to support Tony Khan

While speaking in the same conversation, Tommy Dreamer also pointed out that it would be great if Kenny Omega showed up on AEW on the May 1 edition of Dynamite and stood alongside Tony Khan against his newly formed rivalry with The Elite.

"Kenny Omega in Winnipeg is off the charts for Winnipeg alone I don't want to see it online while he's playing video games, so maybe save that. I'm the biggest Kenny Omega fan, supporter, I love the guy, I love watching him work. Even if it's an update on him but like 'hey, there's a bigger update, you took out someone who I'm close friends with, someone who stood by my side, has allowed me to take time off while I'm healing with this stuff, and that's Tony Khan." The TNA star noted that Omega's history with the Jackson brothers could provide a nice touch to the budding storyline. The Cleaner used to be a member of The Elite, but due to his prolonged absence from the team, he was kicked out of the group last month by Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.
