Tommy Dreamer reveals the true face of Tony Khan's company: "He's been flying the flag of AEW for quite some time"

There are many top stars in AEW with immense talent and skill. However, according to Tommy Dreamer, there is only one performer who is the true face of the promotion: Darby Allin.

The Daredevil is known for performing high-risk moves in matches. He doesn't shy away from a challenge no matter how difficult it is. Allin is an All Elite Wrestling original and has been with the promotion since its inception in 2019. He is a two-time TNT Champion and a former World Tag Team Champion.

On the latest edition of the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Tommy Dreamer explained why he felt the 31-year-old star was the real face of the Tony Khan-led All Elite Wrestling.

"If there was ever somebody that I, Tommy Dreamer, would get behind. I will tell you who this person is right now because of his little sit-down, Darby Allin. He's been flying the flag of AEW for quite some time. He is truthful in what he says. But Darby Allin really gave the blueprint of what AEW means to him, what AEW should mean to the wrestling fans and the wrestlers."

Dreamer added that the Seattle native reminded him of Jeff Hardy, a legendary talent who is popular for his aggressive and high-risk wrestling style.

"So what Darby did was like, why this is special, why this is special for wrestling fans because I know, I know five years is a long time, but Darby gave me his 'why' and showed what he would do for it. He reminds me of Jeff Hardy and I don’t look at Darby and be like, 'Oh man, that’s a small guy.' I look at that guy and was like, 'That guy will do anything for his love of professional wrestling, but also what is professional listening to him? It’s AEW."

Darby Allin bleeds during AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin is known for being reckless and impulsive, which has left him bruised on many occasions. On this week's Dynamite, fans again saw blood oozing out of his body, but this time his injury was self-inflicted.

The face-painted star had a backstage interview with Tony Schiavone, where he candidly spoke about the Jacksonville-based promotion. He was also asked to address his daredevil attitude. Allin replied by saying that he liked it and then went on to punch himself in the face, drawing blood.
