Toni Storm’s in-ring career is over and she’s not coming back to AEW anytime soon, declares Mariah May

AEW's Mariah May declared that Toni Storm's in-ring career has come to an end in a recent and seemingly in-character interview. She also questioned the likelihood of the latter returning to the Tony Khan-led promotion in the near future.

The Glamour's rise to the apex of the women's division of All Elite Wrestling is one of the promotion's most noteworthy recent success stories. In the culmination of a storyline that began towards the end of last year, May defeated her former mentor. Toni Storm on her home soil at All In 2024, last month to become the new AEW Women's World Champion.

The 26-year-old star has already registered a successful title defense since winning it at Wembley Stadium, defeating Nyla Rose to retain her belt this week on AEW Dynamite. While fans may be interested in seeing May square off against Toni Storm in what would undeniably be an exciting rematch, the English star herself is seemingly skeptical of the prospect of The Timeless One coming back any time soon.

During a recent appearance on Barstool Rasslin', May claimed that Storm may be dead, seemingly alluding to the former AEW Women's World Champion's programming hiatus since dropping her title to the current title-holder at All In and leaving the stadium shortly afterward.

“I don’t think she thinks. I don’t think there’s a single thought in that woman’s head anymore. She was humiliated at Wembley. She lost, her butler cried. She danced out of the arena into the street. Has anyone seen her since? She could be dead, hopefully. Fingers crossed [...] I’m a champion, I won the Owen Hart tournament, I won the world title at Wembley, I killed a woman," said May.

May emphasized the unlikeliness of Storm returning, claiming that their Women's World Championship match may have led the latter to retirement.

I don’t think she’s ever going to come back. I think that was her retirement. I don’t think she can speak anymore. She doesn’t have a single thought running through her head at any one time. She just speaks nonsense,” she added.

AEW's Toni Storm wants Mariah May at Grand Slam Australia

While Mariah May might think that her feud with Toni Storm ended at All In 2024, The Illustrious One may not be done with her former protege just yet.

AEW recently announced that its annual event Grand Slam will make its Australian debut on February 15, 2025, at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Toni Storm, who returned to Australia following All In, appeared in an interview with ESPN Sports Center to talk about All Elite Wrestling Grand Slam arriving at the Land Down Under. The 28-year-old star expressed her interest in a rematch with Mariah May at the aforementioned event.

It remains to be seen whether The Fighting Princess will be up to the task of retaining her Women's World Championship against Storm on the latter's home turf if they do square off at Grand Slam Australia.
