Toni Storm stealing the spotlight from AEW star gets sympathy from WWE veteran
A former WWE star claimed that Toni Storm's return to the company after nearly four months may take the spotlight away from an AEW star. While many fans were happy to see her back, Tommy Dreamer sympathized with Thunder Rosa.
La Mera Mera has been consistently featured on AEW TV for a few weeks. She has been one of the top women on Rampage and Collision. Her feud with Harley Cameron has been quite entertaining, during which Thunder Rosa picked up two huge wins over her. The former is slated to face Mariah May at the Worlds End pay-per-view in a Tijuana Street Fight contest.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old star has been absent from AEW since August. At All In 2024, she lost to Mariah May and has been seen nowhere since then. A couple of weeks back, she announced her retirement from pro wrestling, only to return on the December 11 episode of Dynamite. While Mariah and Toni had a massive staredown, Rosa was at the ringside, reacting to her return.
On Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer said he felt bad for Thunder Rosa after Toni Storm's comeback, as the former will receive less spotlight.
"[I] kind of feel bad for our very own Thunder Rosa because I thought Thunder Rosa was kind of maybe setting up in that top spot. Who knows? But yes, good to see Toni Storm," he said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Plans following Toni Storm's return caused chaos backstage
Storm made a gigantic return to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Moments after her comeback, she was announced to face Harley Cameron on Rampage.
According to reports, it was claimed that people backstage were shocked to see Tony Khan booking the former AEW Women's World Champion on Rampage.
It will be interesting to see what the company has in store for Storm in the future.
