Chris Jericho almost got fired a month after his WWE debut

After a successful run in WCW, Chris Jericho moved to WWE where his first segment in the Stamford-based promotion involved The Rock. Jericho was able to build a Hall of Fame-worthy career in the WWE due to his numerous accomplishments over the years. In many ways, his run in WWE helped him become the superstar he is today. However, it's hard to imagine that he almost got fired early on in his WWE career.

During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, the former AEW World Champion recalled that Vince McMahon almost fired him a month after his WWE debut because he was seen as an ex-WCW guy.

He said, "I almost got fired about a month in [World Wrestling Entertainment]. I got called into a meeting with Vince, Jim Ross, and Blackjack and that's when Vince was like, 'The problem with you is you're the drizzling sh*t. You're not worth more than the paper your contract was printed on.' I was like, 'You're green as grass but geez, lighten up dude.'" [1:55 - 2:20]

It's hard to imagine what would've happened had Vince McMahon fired Y2J at that time.
