Tony Khan addresses whether he watched Netflix's Vince McMahon docuseries
AEW President Tony Khan recently addressed whether he has had the time to catch the Vince McMahon docuseries on Netflix. McMahon is a former chairman and CEO of WWE.
The Mr. McMahon docuseries was released on Netflix last week. It covered the controversies involving the legendary promoter and how he took over the pro wrestling world by making World Wrestling Entertainment a global phenomenon. The docuseries featured interviews with John Cena, The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, and more.
In a recent chat on Quinn and Cantara Mornings, Tony Khan revealed that he had not watched the Mr. McMahon docuseries as he had been busy with football and his All Elite Wrestling duties.
"No, I've been so busy with football and wrestling that I have not seen that documentary. I've not gotten to watch that. Mostly focused here on what we're doing in AEW. I do love watching wrestling all over the world." [2:35 - 2:46]
Vince Russo believes Tony Khan and Vince McMahon are involved in the wrong business
On a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, WWE veteran Vince Russo claimed that Tony Khan and Vince McMahon were two insecure human beings who got involved in the wrong business just to prove themselves to their fathers.
Vince Russo made the abovementioned comments after learning about Vince and Shane McMahon's real-life relationship in the Mr. McMahon docuseries. In the six-episode program, the 79-year-old discussed wanting to prove his potential to his father. Meanwhile, Shane revealed that he took high-risk bumps in the ring just to get a pat on the back from Vince.
"That's an ongoing theme in wrestling. You know, Vince McMahon wanting to prove himself to his father. Shane McMahon wanting to prove himself to Vince McMahon. Dixie Carter wanting to prove herself to her father. Tony Khan (...) Like it's an ongoing theme. It just seems like just very, I don't know, bro, just very insecure and delicate human beings for some reason getting involved in the wrong business." [7:51 onwards]
Shane McMahon's potential arrival in AEW has been heavily teased over the past few months. It will be interesting to see whether he shows up in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
