Tony Khan announces special AEW plan for Bryan Danielson ahead of rumored retirement
AEW is preparing for its second annual All In pay-per-view, which could be the swan song for Bryan Danielson. This week's Dynamite could be the final episode on domestic turf for Danielson, and now Tony Khan's special plan has been revealed.
The American Dragon and Swerve Strickland are set to headline AEW All In on August 25. Danielson's career will be on the line amid major rumors and speculation, while Swerve will put the World Championship up for grabs. Swerve is set to face Bryan's Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Wheeler Yuta in a non-title match on this week's Dynamite, and Danielson is expected to be on commentary.
Danielson will be honored on this week's Dynamite as All Elite Wrestling looks back at his career. Tony Khan took to X today to announce that a Danielson career retrospective will air in the form of a special music video featuring the hit song "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day.
"Before the Title vs Career match vs AEW World Champion @swerveconfident at #AEWAllIn London 25/8/24 @wembleystadium, we look back at Bryan Danielson's career TOMORROW. @BryanDanielson video, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by @GreenDay! Tomorrow on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite!"

AEW has also announced the following for tomorrow: Adam Page vs. Jay Lethal, Kyle O'Reilly vs. Roderick Strong vs. Orange Cassidy for the #1 spot in the All In Casino Gauntlet, Mariah May revealing her movie, plus a face-off between Claudio Castagnoli and Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada.
AEW star Bryan Danielson names song he'd have played at his funeral
Bryan Danielson spoke with longtime rock platform Kerrang! this week to promote his match with World Champion Swerve Strickland at All In. The veteran talent named songs he'd like played at various life events, and one choice is now very interesting.
The Best Wrestler In The World was asked which song he wants to be played at his funeral. He named mega-hit "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)" by Green Day, which All Elite Wrestling is using for a Danielson career video package on Dynamite this week.
"That’s really hard. I like 'Time Of Your Life,' that’s not a bad one. If I had more time to think about it, it’d maybe be a Kimya Dawson or a Frank Turner song, but I would really have to think about it. I’d probably have to think about it now in case something happens, right? My wife will be like, ‘Why are we playing Green Day at Bryan’s funeral? He said it in an interview!,'" Bryan Danielson said laughing.
Danielson did commentary during Wheeler Yuta's win over Rocky Romero on Rampage this weekend. He is rumored to return to the commentary desk on Wednesday's Dynamite during the Yuta vs. Strickland match.
