Tony Khan announces unfortunate update on AEW star
AEW President Tony Khan has just provided an update on a roster member whose status moving forward has been a big question mark over the past few days. This would have major implications for the Continental Classic tournament.
Juice Robinson was one of the stars making his tournament debut this year. He competed in the C2 this past weekend, facing off against Will Ospreay in a Gold League match. He took a loss that night, but it was reported that he had sustained a major injury and was spotted in crutches afterward.
Reports came in saying he had sustained a broken foot and would need a replacement for the tournament should he be out for the foreseeable future. Tony Khan has just announced that he will indeed be replaced by Komander, and necessary adjustments to the tournament schedule will be made.
"Due to injury, Juice Robinson cannot complete the #AEWContinentalClassic. Aiming to prove that he can hang with the world’s very best, high flying rising star @KomandercrMX will join the field as Gold League first alternate, + the upcoming schedule will be adjusted accordingly," Khan wrote.
The AEW luchador will be entering the Continental Classic with one loss, but it remains to be seen how he'll end up faring against the top stars in the tournament.
