Tony Khan comments on nail-biting Full Gear match that will define AEW's future

AEW will present several high-stakes matches in its upcoming pay-per-view, Full Gear 2024. Tony Khan has now revealed his excitement about one of these bouts.

For the past few months, the All Elite Wrestling locker room has been dealing with the violent onslaught of Jon Moxley and The Death Riders. The heel group has taken to assaulting and brutalizing wrestlers and backstage personnel, motivated by Moxley's vision of what the promotion should be and how it should be represented.

After The One True King of AEW destroyed Chuck Taylor's neck on Dynamite, the latter's long-time friend and ally, Orange Cassidy, challenged Moxley for his World Title at Full Gear 2024. During a recent interview with Q101, All Elite CEO Tony Khan voiced his anticipation for the Freshly Squeezed star's imminent championship bout against Jon Moxley, referencing the history of their past rivalry in the promotion.

"Last year, when you look at where the company was, they stepped up at AEW All Out here around Chicago and they had the great main event... Last year at Full Gear, Orange Cassidy recaptured the title. And now looking at how much the company's changed over a year, so much rides on this match. Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley, they're two of the greatest stars since the beginning of the company," Khan said. [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Before this, Moxley had dethroned OC for the International Championship at All Out last year. The latter regained the championship later, albeit doing so by beating Rey Fenix. However, Cassidy successfully defended the belt against the former Lunatic Fringe at Full Gear 2023.

Jon Moxley's warning to Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite

This week on Dynamite, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley emphatically declared his mission statement for Full Gear on Saturday. Refusing to concern himself with Orange Cassidy's nature, The Purveyor of Violence vowed that he would regard his challenger as nothing more than an obstacle that he would deal with.

"Aside recent discoveries that Orange Cassidy is a snake, cold-blooded, uncaring, unmoving, a serpent lurking in the darkest corners of the battlefield, my objective remains the same... You may be this borderline sociopath, you may be a great guy, just like everybody thinks. I don't care what kind of person you are. When the bell rings on Saturday night, and the AEW World Championship hangs in the balance, you are a threat to my people, and I will destroy you," said Moxley.

In the main event of the episode, Cassidy defeated Wheeler Yuta one-on-one but would be attacked post-match by Moxley and The Death Riders once again. It remains to be seen if the All Elite World Title will change hands on November 23.
