Tony Khan declares 38-year-old performer as AEW's "greatest star"
AEW CEO Tony Khan has revealed the greatest star from his promotion. The name is none other than current All Elite Wrestling World Champion Jon Moxley.
The 38-year-old was one of the first names to jump ship from WWE to All Elite Wrestling in 2019. Jon Moxley quickly became the top star in All Elite Wrestling and is the only star to hold the World Championship four times. Moxley's recent title run began after he defeated Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream PPV last month.
In a recent chat on CHGO Sports, Tony Khan called Jon Moxley the greatest star ever in All Elite Wrestling. He recalled Mox's debut at Double or Nothing 2019 and how the show ended with him at the top. Khan claimed that it has stayed the same since.
“Jon Moxley is AEW’s greatest star ever,” Khan stated. “Jon Moxley’s the four-time world champion. At the beginning of the launch of AEW, we ended our first-ever show with Jon Moxley standing atop the poker chips at Double or Nothing, and it’s been that way since.” [H/T: RingsideNews]
Tony Khan on Jon Moxley vs Orange Cassidy at AEW Full Gear
Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy has stepped up to Jon Moxley and The Death Riders after their continuous assaults on the locker room. He is set to face Moxley for the World Title at Full Gear.
In a recent interview on Q101, Tony Khan called Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley two of the promotion's greatest stars since its beginning.
"Last year, when you look at where the company was, they stepped up at AEW All Out here around Chicago and they had the great main event... Last year at Full Gear, Orange Cassidy recaptured the title. And now looking at how much the company's changed over a year, so much rides on this match. Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley, they're two of the greatest stars since the beginning of the company," Khan said. [H/T Wrestling Inc]
We will have to wait and see if Orange Cassidy manages to defeat Jon Moxley at Full Gear.
