Tony Khan declares he wants former WWE Intercontinental Champion to stay in AEW forever

AEW's upcoming pay-per-view, WrestleDream 2024, will feature eleven matches. Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley's showdown will be a captivating affair. The World Championship is at stake, as is The American Dragon's career. Tony Khan recently spoke about Danielson's potential future in the Jacksonville-based company.

Reigning World Champion Bryan Danielson has suffered numerous injuries throughout his career. He was even forced to retire once due to injury issues. However, he returned to the squared circle and proved why he was one of the greatest to do it. Earlier this year, Danielson announced that he would retire from full-time in-ring competition after losing the title.

Danielson could lose his gold at WrestleDream because the odds are not in his favor. In a recent media call, Tony Khan said he didn't want the former WWE Intercontinental Champions' full-time career to end. The 42-year-old wants The American Dragon to stay with All Elite Wrestling forever.

"I certainly don't ever want to see Bryan's full-time career end. I want Bryan to stay with us forever and I want this run to last as long as possible. And I know there are a lot of people that feel that way and that's why there is going to be so many people rooting for Bryan in his home state."

AEW founder Tony Khan on Bryan Danielson's title reign

In the aforementioned media call, Tony Khan said Bryan Danielson's story has been one of the highlights of All Elite Wrestling's product this year. Khan added that he knew that the 43-year-old would be a worthy world champion, and he was proved right.

"It's been one of the real highlights of 2024 this year and also of my entire life. Working with Bryan Danielson and watching him become the AEW World Champion at Wembley Stadium, at AEW All In, with his family there. It was an amazing moment and one of the great [sic] nights of my life. I knew Bryan Danielson could be a great world champion for AEW and now he's been a great champion," Khan said.

Many fans are hoping to see Danielson defeat Jon Moxley and continue his full-time in-ring career. Will The American Dragon reign supreme on October 12? Only time will tell.
