Tony Khan donates huge sum to former WCW star after health scare; Cody Rhodes also made a contribution

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently donated a significant amount to a WCW veteran who went through an unfortunate health scare. The veteran is none other than Kevin Sullivan.

A couple of weeks ago, Kevin Sullivan underwent emergency surgery after suffering an incident in Florida. However, his daughter set up a GoFundMe for the veteran to get through these tough times, and wrestling stars like Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, and Diamond Dallas Page have all donated.

All Elite President Tony Khan has also come forward to help and donated 10,000 dollars to Kevin Sullivan. The target of the campaign was set to $20,000, but it has already garnered $47,800 as of right now.

WCW veteran Konnan reveals Tony Khan was mad at him for his comments

AAA and AEW have a working relationship that allows talent to crossover between both promotions. AEW star Tay Melo was supposed to be a part of an AAA show a couple of years ago but Khan had to pull her out of the show due to COVID.

Konnan addressed the issue and stated that 'some chick' got COVID instead of revealing Tay Melo's name.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 podcast, the WCW veteran revealed that Tony Khan was mad at him for not calling Tay Melo by her name.

“I was thinking to myself, you’ve got so many girls but you’re going to use her.. okay. And then I said on the podcast, I go ‘some chick got (COVID)’ because I’m pretty sure he didn’t want me to say the name. And when he saw me, he goes, ‘What do you mean some chick?’ Like, oh give me a break, dude. So, would you rather have had me say the name? It’s not being disrespectful. If you say ‘chick’ I think they know what you mean. ‘Hey, that’s a hot chick,’ is that disrespectful?’" [H/T - F4WOnline]

Tay Melo is currently training to return to the squared circle after her pregnancy. It will be interesting to see if she returns to AEW with her husband Sammy Guevara.
