Tony Khan makes a bold statement about AEW’s future

Tony Khan recently made some encouraging comments regarding AEW's future. His remarks pertained to the promotion's ongoing media rights negotiations.

All Elite Wrestling has changed the landscape of pro wrestling not just in North America but also internationally, currently boasting one of the world's best rosters stacked with talent from across the globe. The company presents a number of regular television programs—Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision- which air on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, respectively, on TBS and TNT. In addition, it produces other special events and numerous yearly pay-per-views.

The Tony Khan-led promotion is currently negotiating a new media rights deal with its broadcasting partner, Warner Brothers Discovery. Recent reports indicate that All Elite Wrestling is working out a lucrative new agreement with the network. Rumors have since sprung up that the promotion is also supposedly planning to broadcast a new show, Shockwave, on FOX.

Tony Khan, during a recent interview with Busted Open, commented on the company's future with WBD in emphatically positive terms, albeit without making any official confirmations.

"There's a lot of reports and rumors... I have not confirmed, and Warner Brothers has not confirmed anything officially, but it's an exciting time for AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery, who are also here in New York City... All the great people at Warner Brothers Discovery have been so great to us, and I think we have a really exciting future there. I can say with a hundred percent certainty AEW and TBS and TNT are here to stay for a long time," said Khan.

AEW President Tony Khan appeared in a recent program on FS1

Earlier this year, Tony Khan was shockingly attacked by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks of The Elite. The 41-year-old sports executive attended the 2024 NFL Draft days later, sporting a neck brace to sell the effects of the assault.

NFL Films documented Khan's work as AEW's creative head as well as in the capacity of Senior President of Football and Analytics for the Jacksonville Jaguars during a day of the 2024 draft. The resulting special, A Day in the Life of AEW GM & CEO Tony Khan, aired on FS1 on September 18.

The timing of the aforementioned program is intriguing, given speculations that All Elite Wrestling is reportedly in talks with FOX to broadcast a new show.
