Tony Khan makes a huge announcement regarding Mercedes Moné ahead of AEW Dynamite
AEW star Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) currently holds the AEW TBS Championship and the Strong Women's Title. Furthermore, she is in an intense feud with Britt Baker and is scheduled to lock horns with her at All In 2024 for the TBS Championship. Tony Khan has now made an announcement regarding The CEO's upcoming appearance on Dynamite.
On Dynamite: Blood & Guts, the rivalry between Moné and Baker unexpectedly escalated. The DMD had a match with Hikaru Shida, and it ended with the former's triumph. After the showdown ended, Moné arrived on the ramp and delivered a promo, revealing that she had no intention of facing the 33-year-old in London, England.
"I know that you want a shot at my title at All In, and what would be hotter than The CEO versus the D.M.D.? So, let’s get to it because I know that everyone is waiting for my answer. And that answer is no!" Mercedes Moné said.
Out of nowhere, Kamille showed up in the squared circle and attacked Baker. Soon it was confirmed that Moné and the former NWA star had formed an alliance. The 31-year-old signed with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, and this was her first appearance in the promotion.
Tony Khan recently announced on X/Twitter that on the upcoming episode of Dynamite, Mercedes Moné would address fans alongside Kamille.
Bully Ray believes that Mercedes Moné's ally Kamille can be AEW's Chyna
On a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, WWE legend Bully Ray compared AEW star Kamille to The Ninth Wonder of the World, Chyna. Ray hoped that the 31-year-old would achieve the same success as the late-great WWE Hall of Famer did in the Attitude Era.
"Heavy. Protector. A Chyna-esque presence. She slides in through the backdoor, Kamille Brickhouse. Great to see her and high hopes for her. You saw what she did in the NWA. She brought credibility to that Women's Championship. I want to see Kamille getting established first in the same way Chyna was established back in the day," Ray said.
Kamille is best known for her time in the NWA, where she held the NWA World Women's Champion for more than 800 days.
