Tony Khan makes surprise announcement shortly after WWE RAW goes off air
Tony Khan made a surprising announcement right after WWE RAW went off the air. This is sure to excite some fans.
There are many wrestlers gunning for titles in AEW, and one of them is Anna Jay. The former member of the Jericho Appreciation Society had been away in Japan, building up her in-ring skills.
She returned in October and pursued Mariah May for the AEW Women’s Championship but was unsuccessful. Tony Khan has now announced that Anna will face Penelope Ford for a shot at Mercedes Mone's TBS Championship.
Taking to X/Twitter, he wrote:
“THIS WEDNESDAY, 12/4 Fishers, IN, near Indianapolis TBS, 8pm ET/7pm CT Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite @annajay___ vs @thePenelopeFord. One of AEW’s most intense rivalries will be renewed THIS WEDNESDAY: Anna Jay, in pursuit of the TBS Title, will fight the resurgent Penelope Ford!”
Konnan thinks Anna Jay would be better off working for Triple H than Tony Khan
Konnan is known for his outlandish wrestling views, and he usually does not hold back. A while back, he spoke about how Anna Jay would be better off working in WWE for Triple H than in AEW under Tony Khan.
He was speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast when he alluded to Jade Cargill as an example.
"Yeah, there's a couple of people there that I think would do better in WWE and she's [Anna Jay] one of them. And I don't think she has heat because of the [Jack] Perry thing. It's just normal non-sensical AEW's what I would call it. But yeah, she has everything to be a huge star and her value is not going up staying there. Look at how fast they made Jade [Cargill] a star over there," he said.
Given how she is being pushed right now, he might want to reconsider his earlier statements.
