Tony Khan questioned about Ricky Starks after the star's bold stunt outside AEW
AEW CEO Tony Khan was recently asked about Ricky Starks and Kenny Omega's returns outside of the promotion. Both stars have been absent from television for a long time now.
The Absolute made a shocking appearance at the GCW Dream One event from the American Dream Mall last night. Ricky Starks interrupted the introduction for Matt Cardona and cut a heated promo about the change he was going to make in his future. At GCW Highest in the Room in December, the AEW star will make his in-ring debut against Matt Cardona.
In the Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan remarked that he was excited to see them participate in other promotions and was looking forward to see Omega and Starks return to All Elite Wrestling.
"I'm very excited about having our stars participate in other promotions. Kenny Omega will be competing for Wrestle Dynasty. (...) That's gonna be a great show, we're very excited about it. We have a lot of really cool things coming in January. Kenny Omega and Ricky Starks both been great champions here in AEW. (...) Stuff like this is to keep an eye on future when some more of these great stars will be back in AEW." [1:33:10-1:33:56]
Ricky Starks recently spoke about his absence from AEW
The Absolute One has been absent from television since earlier this year. Ricky Starks has vented his frustration about his treatment in the promotion but All Elite Wrestling seemingly has nothing in creative for the star.
In a recent interview with Weekend Joe, Ricky Starks said he can't stay at home for long and will be taking new opportunities.
"I can't be stuck at home for too much longer. Obviously, I go stir crazy and I saw an opportunity with Cody Lane to come out and challenge for the title of course and I thought it was even a better idea because I used to actually live in St. Louis. I used to live in Melville, of all places. So I thought it was a good way to make a return and also, I've known Cody for quite a bit, he used to train here in Texas and I said, 'Well, why not just come back and test the grit against somebody that I'm very much familiar with.'" Fans will have to wait and see if Ricky Starks returns to action in All Elite Wrestling any time soon.
