Tony Khan reveals if WWE and AEW would team up for a huge supershow
One could imagine how fans would be stoked if WWE and AEW would ever come together to promote a supershow featuring some of wrestling's biggest names. Tony Khan recently discussed the same and revealed if it would be possible to pull it off.
Ever since All Elite Wrestling came into existence in 2019, it has been a formidable challenger and alternative to WWE. Many talents have jumped ship from one company to another with varying levels of success. Considering AEW often teams up with promotions like NJPW and CMLL, many have dreamt of a scenario where Tony Khan's company could join forces with the Triple H-led Stamford-based promotion.
Recently on The Rich Eisen Show, Khan was asked about a potential supershow involving the two companies. The AEW President explained that while he would love to see it happen, the business side of things could make it difficult to execute.
“I would love if that were possible, I don’t know that it is, but it would be great if it was possible for the fans, I think that would be wonderful, but there are a lot of challenging business things in the world of pro-wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do," said Khan. Tony Khan comments on Bryan Danielson's AEW run
Elsewhere in the same chat, Tony Khan spoke about Bryan Danielson's future. The American Dragon has already made it clear that 2024 is his final year as a full-time wrestler. TK stated that he wished Danielson stayed with the company forever and claimed that the star intends to stay with the promotion moving forward.
“I hope Bryan will stay here for the rest of his life. I know he's planning to stay with us for a long time going forward, as part of the company. Hopefully, I would want Bryan to stay with us as long as is humanly possible.”
Bryan Danielson is gearing up for a marquee match at All In 2024, where he will challenge Swerve Strickland for the coveted AEW World Championship.
