Tony Khan's gift to Sting on Dynamite will be unlike anything that "has ever happened to a wrestler in pro wrestling," claims AEW personality

Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite is set to feature a segment involving Tony Khan honoring Sting with some sort of special gift. According to a well-respected personality within the promotion, the gift is set to be like none other that the wrestling world has ever seen.

It's no secret that Tony Khan is a huge fan of Sting. The AEW President regularly sings The Icon's praises and once stated that he would allow the Stinger to continue the promotion for as long as he likes.

So, it's understandable that Khan would want to make a big deal of Sting's upcoming retirement in 2024. According to Tony Schiavone, the gift on tonight's show is going to be "historic."

"This will be an historic gift. Yes, I said historic. Nothing like this has ever happened to a wrestler in pro wrestling," Schiavone said on AEW Control Centre. [H/T: Bodyslam.net]

Because of his backstage roles within the company, Schiavone is usually privy to the behind-the-scenes goings-on of the promotion. So, taking his word at face value, fans are in for a monumental occasion tonight.

Sting's AEW run comes full circle at Revolution 2024

During his entire spell in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Sting has been treated like a major, special attraction star. This launched from his first match with All Elite Wrestling at Revolution 2021 and will conclude at the 2024 iteration of the same event.

While not much else is known about Sting's retirement match, like who his opponent will be and whether there will be an added stipulation, many have offered ideas for how the entire ordeal should play out.

The popular answer to the question of who should be his final opponent is Darby Allin. The two have worked side-by-side for years now, and it would be a notable nod of approval for the legend to put over his protégé on the way out.
