Tony Khan shockingly announces AEW "can't be held responsible" for AEW All Out match
AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced a new stipulation for a major match at the upcoming All Out PPV this Saturday. Khan also made it clear that the company would not be responsible for the events in the upcoming match.
The ongoing blood feud between two former AEW World Champions, Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, will potentially be concluded this Saturday at All Out. The two top stars have had three insane singles matches thus far, with Swerve winning two of them last year. Their latest match ended in a time-limit draw earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Swerve and Hangman will lock horns inside a Steel Cage at the All Out pay-per-view. Ahead of their match, Hangman made the rivalry more personal by burning Swerve's childhood house down on Dynamite this week. Later, Tony Khan took to X to announce that the upcoming match between the two rivals will now be an unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match.
The AEW President also asserted that his company shouldn't be held responsible for the events in Chicago this weekend.
"Lights Out Steel Cage Match Hangman Page vs. @swerveconfident AEW can't be held responsible for what happens in Chicago at All Out when Hangman Page fights Swerve Strickland in an unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match this Saturday!" Khan wrote.
Tony Khan has booked a decent card for AEW All Out
The All Out 2024 PPV will take place in the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on Saturday, September 7. The Tony Khan-led creative team has booked a stacked card for the marquee event.
Reigning International Champion Will Ospreay will defend his title against PAC, while Hikaru Shida will challenge Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship this weekend. Willow Nightingale will lock horns with Kris Statlander in a Chicago Street Fight, while MJF and Daniel Garcia will battle in a singles match.
Meanwhile, after last night's Dynamite, it was revealed that The Young Bucks will defend the World Tag Team Championship against Blackpool Combat Club's Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
Additionally, AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson will defend his gold against TNT Champion Jack Perry in Chicago. The show will likely be headlined by the unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page.
Reigning Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada will defend his title in a Four-Way Match at All Out. The Rainmaker's opponents will be decided through a series of three matches in the upcoming episode of Collision.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out at the pay-per-view this weekend.
