Tony Khan shuts down major AEW rumor
AEW President Tony Khan set the record straight when he was asked one of the most pressing questions about his company. The AEW President's comments may not come as good news to all.
Tony is very candid about his plans regarding AEW and some of the shows that are at hand. He successfully pulled off one of the biggest wrestling events ever at All In last year, and he is on course to do that again this year.
There are a lot of fans in the United States who are looking for something similar. However, Tony Khan has now said something that will disappoint them. It was reported a few days back that AEW was planning for a stadium show, but Tony shut down those reports when he was speaking with Comicbook.com.
"It’s not something that we would be looking to do anytime here in the immediate future. But it is an exciting idea and something I think that we absolutely could do and something that would be very interesting," he said. [H/T Comicbook]
Tony Khan comments on Ricochet amid AEW rumors
Since leaving WWE last month, former WWE star Ricochet has been one of the most talked-about stars.
Since then, he has been rumored to sign with AEW, and some reports claim it could happen very soon. Tony Khan was speaking with Comicbook.com when he spoke in glowing terms about the former WWE star.
"I'm a huge fan of Ricochet. I think he's a great, great wrestler. He's been involved in matches against some of the top stars in AEW. He also has a great history in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, as he's been a champion there and a top star. We have great collaboration there and I love the history of New Japan and I think he's a big part of it. During a great era when a lot of our top stars were wrestling there, he was a big part of it. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Ricochet and think he's one of the top athletes and one of the most exciting stars in all of wrestling."
It would be interesting to see if Tony Khan would bring Ricochet to the company.
