Tony Khan wanted problematic AEW moment to happen, feels WWE veteran: "There's no Vince McMahon there" (Exclusive)

After a successful All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium, AEW had little over two weeks time to build for All Out. A WWE veteran believes Tony Khan wanted to book an uncomfortable spot at the event. The name in question is none other than Vince Russo.

Bryan Danielson suffered a brutal beatdown at the hands of the Blackpool Combat Club at AEW All Out. Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagoli ambushed Bryan and the segment ended with Moxley suffocating Danielson with a plastic bag, a move which has been criticized by many.

In the recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, Vince Russo claimed that the AEW management and Tony Khan gave the green light for doing the plastic bag spot. He noted how there was no Vince McMahon in the back who would have wanted to do things differently.

"They all wanted to do it, bro. If they wouldn't have wanted, they wouldn't have done it. They all wanted to do it. There's no Vince McMahon there saying you're doing this and not doing this. If they did that bro, they all agreed and wanted to do that." [From 16:40 to 16:56]

Vince Russo believes AEW is leaning towards unnecessary spots during matches

During the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo revealed how he got a clip of a guy drilling a guy's skin and said that the type of stuff is starting to be introduced on All Elite Wrestling programming.

The promotion never shies away from crossing the line as we see a lot of brutal matchups in All Elite Wrestling several times in a year.

"We had a clip this morning, no lie, I could not believe I was seeing this. Bro, a guy took a drill and drilled it straight through the guy's skin. I had to make Jeff play it back three times. A drill bit right through his cheek, I'm like, 'What's next bro?' Like seriously man and now all of that stuff is bleeding over to AEW." [From 9:00 ti 9:37]

The company has gained momentum following two successful pay-per-views. It will be interesting to see if All Elite Wrestling changes up the direction after the recent backlash for All Out.
