Tony Khan wants to bring back 46-year-old star to AEW after more than four years

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently spoke about wanting to bring a top star back to his company after a long absence. The star is none other than CIMA.

The 46-year-old CIMA along with T-Hawk, and El Lindaman were featured in AEW during the company's early years where they competed in many trios and tag team matches. CIMA is no stranger to championship gold as he is a former AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion and can hold his own in singles competition. He has competed against the likes of Kenny Omega, Darby Allin, and Christopher Daniels in the Tony Khan-led promotion

In a recent interview with Q101, Tony Khan revealed that he wants to bring the trio back to the promotion. CIMA, T-Hawk, and El Lindaman last appeared in February 2020 before the pandemic.

"At some point, I would love to have CIMA back, and I would love to have the Strong Hearts back. T-Hawk and Lindaman were excellent. I think those guys did a fantastic job. It’s great to hear that there’s interest to see the Strong Hearts back in AEW, and I would not be opposed to that at all. I think it’s great. I would love to see the Strong Hearts and the Dark Order pick up because believe me, it’s not something we’ve closed the book on. Just like nobody knows when Shaquille O’Neal left the ambulance, it remains to be seen, my friend. It’s a great question, but that chapter’s still open. You never know. Sooner or later, I look forward to maybe answering it for you." H/T:[Fightful]

AEW CEO Tony Khan comments on bringing wrestling back to TNT and TBS

AEW made its official debut in 2019 on TNT with Dynamite and later got introduced to TBS. The company currently airs two more shows, Rampage and Collision on Friday and Saturday. In a recent interview with Q101, CEO Tony Khan revealed that it's an honor to present wrestling on TBS and TNT weekly for professional wrestling fans.

“I think that’s a legitimate thing I said, and it is a challenging thing to be the challenger brand, but it’s also a great opportunity. Bringing wrestling back to TBS and TNT every week means a lot; it’s a great American tradition. I’ve really communicated that very well—that it means a lot to me and to the American people to have wrestling on TBS and TNT every week."

It remains to be seen if CIMA makes his return to AEW anytime soon.
