Top AEW star had backstage fights "almost every day" in WWE during Vince McMahon's regime

A former AEW World Tag Team Champion has disclosed how he had to consistently fight with the management during Vince McMahon's regime in WWE. The star opened up about his creative disagreements with backstage officials.

The top AEW star in question is Dax Harwood of FTR. Harwood and Cash Wheeler are among the top tag team competitors in the Tony Khan-led promotion today. The duo was also a part of WWE between 2014 and 2020, winning multiple titles. However, the tandem arguably couldn't reach its full potential in the global juggernaut.

During his recent appearance on Power Alphas, Dax Harwood revealed how he got into creative disagreements with writers and former chairman Vince McMahon during his time in the global juggernaut. Harwood further spoke about McMahon's alleged opinion of FTR.

"Everything that, at the time, Vince McMahon loved about a professional wrestler (...) Cash and I were the complete antithesis to that. We were not his bodybuilders. We didn't meet his height requirements (...) I knew it was going to be a fight on the main roster, and it was. Almost every day it was a fight." [H/T: WrestlingInc.]

AEW star Dax Harwood admitted Triple H admired him more than Vince McMahon

During the black-and-gold era of NXT, FTR (fka The Revival) worked under the Triple H-led creative team. On the same podcast, Dax Harwood admitted that The Game admired his and Cash Wheeler's talents more than Vince McMahon.

"[Triple H] admired your wrestling and your work and what you brought to the table in-ring more than Vince did at the time," Harwood recalled. "Vince had his idea of what a successful professional wrestler is (...) We were the opposite of that." [H/T: WrestlingInc.]

FTR is currently away from AEW TV due to injury concerns and there is no concrete timeline for the duo's return. It remains to be seen when the former champions will appear on the company's programming again.
