Top AEW star claims 'nothing left to lose'; lays out open challenge for upcoming event
A former AEW champion laid out an open challenge for a major event on the fifth-anniversary show of Dynamite. The star being discussed is Darby Allin.
The Relentless Star has been going through a tough time as he recently lost his chance to wrestle Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship. He lost the opportunity to Jon Moxley on last week's Dynamite when Darby's number-one contender's spot was on the line. After being brutally dismantled by the former Lunatic Fringe, he made a huge announcement on tonight's episode.
On the recent edition of Dynamite, Darby Allin talked about his harsh childhood memory where he was bullied by three kids. However, despite being outnumbered, he decided to confront them. He compared that situation to Jon Moxley's recent comment saying Darby wasn't ready to become the face of the company.
Further, the former TNT Champion also announced that he will be hosting an open challenge at the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View at Tacoma Dome, which also happens to be his hometown.
"I am going to be at the Tacoma Dome, October 12th at WrestleDream. Anybody in the AEW locker room, I am putting out an open challenge. Anybody wants to build their name off Darby Allin, step right up. Nothing left to lose. October 12th, WrestleDream Open Challenge, step up," he said. (02:01 - 02:29)
It will be interesting to see who answers Darby Allin's open challenge at the pay-per-view.
