Top AEW star feared he broke his ribs after Claudio Castagnoli attacked him in brutal spot - "I just want to stay in one piece"

AEW is under siege by Jon Moxley and his heel faction. The Death Riders have declared war on the company's babyfaces, and Claudio Castagnoli is Moxley's right-hand man. After a recent brutal angle on Dynamite, a top AEW Original is opening up on just how vicious the spot was.

Darby Allin has joined Orange Cassidy and other All Elite babyfaces in battling the current AEW World Champion, Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Marina Shafir. Last week's Dynamite saw Darby and Orange fight Claudio and PAC to a No Contest, despite Shafir's interference forcing the finish. At one point, Allin fought the numbers game by swinging his skateboard. Things turned around after Castagnoli pressed Allin high, then launched him ribs-first into the ring post. This allowed the heels to focus on Cassidy until The Conglomeration made the save.

The Daredevil was worried about broken ribs coming out of Dynamite on November 6. Allin recently appeared on SENQ 693AM in Brisbane, Australia, and was asked about being targeted by The Death Riders. The 31-year-old said he's used to it but is trying to avoid a trip to the hospital. Darby then revealed the injury concern from November 6:

"I'm used to it. I just want to stay in one piece and not end up going to the hospital. I feel like I'm dodging bullets. After last week of getting thrown into the steel post by Claudio, I thought my ribs broke for a second. When I hit the ground I was like, 'Ughh.' This is what I live for. I live for the craziness. I wouldn't have it any other way," Darby Allin said. [H/T to Fightful]

Darby vs. Claudio for the first-time-ever has been rumored for the sixth annual AEW Full Gear later this month. However, AEW has confirmed the match for next week's Dynamite instead.

Big matches set for go-home AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling will debut at the Santander Arena in Reading, PA for next week's final Dynamite before Full Gear. The 172nd edition of Rampage will also be taped.

AEW has announced two big matches for Dynamite to continue the Full Gear build. Orange Cassidy will face Wheeler Yuta days before challenging World Champion Jon Moxley at the pay-per-view. This will be the third Yuta vs. Cassidy singles bout after Freshly Squeezed defeated the current World Trios Champion twice in 2023, to retain the All-Atlantic Championship and the International Championship.

Dynamite will also feature Darby Allin going against Claudio Castagnoli in their first-ever singles bout. It's expected that this will lead to some sort of stipulation match being announced for Full Gear. The match comes after Darby's dangerous spots with Claudio on this week's Dynamite.

Next week's Dynamite is the final live event before Full Gear. The pay-per-view is scheduled for Saturday, November 23 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
