Top AEW star gets brutally honest; calls Mariah May "selfish" and a "bad person"
A top star has some harsh words for the current AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May. The star in question is none other than Willow Nightingale.
The Glamour has quickly risen to become one of the big stars in the AEW Women's division. Mariah May won this year's women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and wasted no time in showing her true colors by attacking her best friend Toni Storm. May successfully defeated Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In.
Speaking to Frightful's Shirleigh during her trip to London for All In, the CMLL Women's Champion Willow Nightingale played a quick game of Numpty or Not featuring the All Elite locker room. Nightingale was asked about Mariah May during the game and she explained how turning against Toni Storm was a smart move despite controversial tactics.
“Yeah, she's, you know, she's a little... Her intentions may be selfish. She may be cruel and ruthless. She may be a bad person, but her actions against Toni Storm show that she's cunning. So I would say not a numpty. I would say she's a little smart, not the way I play the game, but it was kind of a smart move.” [H/T: Fightful]
Toni Storm will not be returning to AEW according to Mariah May
Toni Storm and Mariah May had a great relationship with each other before May brutalized her after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The Timeless One also suffered a major defeat at the hands of Mariah May when she lost her AEW Women's World Championship at All In.
In a recent chat on Barstool Rasslin' podcast, Mariah May claimed Toni Storm speaks nonsense and retired at All In. The Glamour is certain that Storm will never return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"I don’t think she’s ever going to come back. I think that was her retirement. I don’t think she can speak anymore. She doesn’t have a single thought running through her head at any one time. She just speaks nonsense,” she added.
We will have to wait and see what the company has in store for Toni Storm's eventual return.
