Top AEW star officially confirms he’s no longer with The Elite
A top AEW star has officially confirmed that he is no longer involved with The Elite. The talent in question is none other than Hangman Adam Page.
The Anxious Millennial Cowboy made his return to the Jacksonville-based promotion on the July 3, 2024, episode of Dynamite. Page was revealed to be the wild card participant selected by The Elite for the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
In his first match back since being submitted by Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution 2024, Hangman defeated Jeff Jarrett in the tournament quarterfinal bout to advance one step closer to headlining Wembley Stadium at All In 2024 and challenging for the AEW World Title, which is currently held by his arch-nemesis, Swerve Strickland.
Page would be interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette after his match on Dynamite: Beach Break, although the interview would be interrupted by The Young Bucks, who welcomed their long-time stable-mate back to the Tony Khan-led promotion. Months after suspending him for putting his hand on AEW officials, The Jackson Brothers attempted to ingratiate themselves to Page, and invited him to be The Elite's fifth member for Blood and Guts later this month.
To their surprise, however, Hangman sternly informed Matthew Jackson that he was no longer going to represent, or be manipulated by, The Elite and their agenda. The former AEW World Champion also then voiced his resolve to win the Owen Hart Cup before proceeding to shove Nicholas Jackson and leaving The Bucks behind to end the segment.
Hangman Page will square off against Jay White in the semi-finals of the 2024 Owen Hart Tournament. If victorious against The Switchblade, Page will advance to the finals at Calgary, Alberta and face off against an old rival, Bryan Danielson.
