Top AEW star seemingly turns heel just 10 days before All In

A top AEW star seemingly turned to the dark side merely 10 days before All In 2024 on the latest episode of Dynamite. The talent in question is none other than Swerve Strickland.

The August 14, 2024, edition of Dynamite featured a non-title match between Wheeler Yuta of The Blackpool Combat Club and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. The New Flavor laid out the challenge one week ago, inviting his All In 2024 challenger Bryan Danielson to be ringside and watch him take out his BCC stable-mate.

Despite putting up an intense performance against Swerve, Yuta was defeated by Strickland by the referee's decision after multiple House Calls, followed by repeated boots and strikes from his opponent. Danielson, who watched the match from ringside, rushed into the ring after the bout, preventing Strickland from continuing his attack on his protege.

However, the former Moghul Embassy leader was not finished, as he grabbed a mic on his way to the back and informed Danielson of his plan to mutilate, retire and cripple The American Dragon in front of his daughter at Wembley Stadium. Swerve later snuck up behind the 43-year-old legend as he was checking on Yuta and delivered a House Call to Danielson.

The show closed with a shot of Strickland mockingly performing Bryan's signature "YES" chants, possibly turning heel.

It remains to be seen if Bryan Danielson will win the AEW World Championship from Swerve Strickland at All In 2024 in their Title vs Career match or if he will wrestle his final bout as a full-time competitor at the event.
