Top AEW star could turn heel on Willow Nightingale, predicts WWE personality
A certain WWE personality has mentioned that a potential heel turn could take place at Double or Nothing should Willow Nightingale drop her title that night. Sam Roberts spoke about Kris Statlander turning on her.
The two best friends have come very far, as they have been standing with one another throughout various feuds. Just recently, they put away Julia Hart, someone who has put them through a lot lately, including turning their former friend Skye Blue away.
During the latest episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts mentioned he felt Mercedes Moné would be walking away with the TBS Championship, dethroning Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing.
He also believed that Kris Statlander could come out and attack her best friend post-match.
"There are a lot of things that could happen, right? You could have Willow attack Mercedes after the match and go nuts, and Willow turns heel. You could have Kris Statlander turn on Willow after Willow loses. Right? Like Mercedes celebrates, leaves the ring with the title, Willow sits up, upset. The crowd cheers. Kris goes in to console her and then beats her down. Kris Statlander turns on Willow and then Stokely stays with Kris." [56:53-57:22]
The seeds for the heel turn on Willow Nightingale have been planted
There have been several instances where this heel turn has been teased over the past few months. It has usually started with the two not being on the same page.
Following the main event at Dynamite: Big Business, Willow Nightingale was attacked by Julia Hart and Skye Blue after her match against Riho. The one who came out to save her was not Kris Statlander but Mercedes Moné.
Statlander then revealed that she was blindsided backstage, so she could not come out, but could this be the truth?
Last month, Nightinagale's match with Mercedes was made official for Double or Nothing on the Dynamite after Dynasty.
After a verbal battle, it seemed that Kris Statlander had words to say to Moné, so she tried pulling her over, but Mercedes instinctively went for a strike and slapped Willow Nightingale. She then had to explain that she inadvertently caused the scuffle to happen.
At this point, nothing is sure, but it is possible that everything that has happened until now was intentional, and Statlander could attack her best friend, who may have suddenly stolen her spotlight.
