Top AEW star wants a rematch against Bryan Danielson at All In; makes a special request

A top AEW star is interested in a rematch against Bryan Danielson at All In 2024. The talent in question is none other than Will Ospreay.

The Aerial Assassin clashed with The American Dragon earlier this year at AEW Dynasty 2024. The English star defeated Danielson in an in-ring masterclass at the Chaifetz Arena, St. Louis. The bout notably led the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion to retire the devastating Tiger Driver 91 from his move-set after he severely injured Danielson with the maneuver in storyline.

Since then, Ospreay has captured the AEW International Championship by beating Roderick Strong at Double or Nothing 2024. His attempt at becoming a double champion was foiled, however, by Swerve Strickland, who retained his AEW World Championship against Ospreay this past Sunday at Forbidden Door 2024.

During an interview on Busted Open Radio, Will Ospreay expressed his desire to square off against Bryan Danielson once again at All In 2024, alluding to the latter's participation in the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner of the tournament will challenge for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old star stated that for the blockbuster rematch, he wanted the former WWE Champion to walk to the ring to his sporadically-used iconic entrance music, "The Final Countdown," produced by the Swedish rock band, Europe.

“I would love to do Bryan Danielson again, just because he is in the Owen Hart Cup,” Will Ospreay said. “It feels right. But there’s one thing that needs to happen this time around, though. He’s got to come out to ‘Final Countdown.’ Just because I love that moments I had with him at Dynasty. It was just a strange moment where I’m looking at my hero, but I was like, something was missing." [H/T - Wrestlezone]

Bill Apter considers Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty a "perfect" match

Bryan Danielson's battle with Will Ospreay at Dynasty 2024 is held in high regard by fans and industry experts alike. Both athletes brought their A-game to the ring in an unforgettable collision of styles, although The Commonwealth Kingpin succeeded at picking up the win.

Bill Apter heaped praise on the match between Danielson and Ospreay, calling it a "perfect" bout. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, the veteran journalist said:

"It was a classic match. It was old school Bryan Danielson against more of a new school only because we haven't seen him as much - he spent so much time in Japan - against Will Ospreay. It was a perfect matchup. The fans were very hyped for it and those fans were not disappointed whatsoever." [1:53 - 2:13]

It remains to be seen whether and when Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson will cross paths again in AEW.
