Top star seemingly levels serious accusations against Tony Khan and AEW amid absenceĀ
A popular star has shared a tweet that seems directed at AEW and Tony Khan amid his uncertain contract situation. Though he didn't take names, Rey Fenix looks to have leveled shocking accusations against his employers.
The future of The Lucha Bros. has been one of the most talked-about topics in pro wrestling over the last few months. Penta El Zero Meido is officially out of All Elite Wrestling and is potentially headed to WWE. Meanwhile, Fenix remains locked to a contract with AEW for a few more months after the promotion seemingly added injury time to his deal.
Amid this, Rey Fenix hasn't held back on firing shots at the company. Though he has promised to tell it all once he's free of any contractual obligations, he has now seemingly accused Tony Khan and AEW of ignoring his requests for medical treatment. Looking at the nature of tweets over the last few days, there's little doubt about whom his new tweet is also directed at. Check it out below.
"I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months," tweeted Fenix.
Konnan advises Tony Khan to release Rey Fenix and other absent stars from AEW
On a recent edition of his Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan explained that it made little sense for Tony Khan to employ talents, including Rey Fenix, he wasn't going to use. The WCW veteran mentioned that Khan would rather use them to put over other names and let them leave the company once their deals were up.
"This is what I would do. I would use them. I would bury them. And then they can go when the contract's over. The thing is, he's tacked on time, which is prerogative because Fenix was injured. But they are still getting paid," Konnan said.
Ricky Starks is another popular AEW name whose career seems to have been stuck in limbo as despite being healthy, he has been sitting at home for months.
