Two surprising names respond to Mercedes Mone’s TBS Title open challenge for AEW Dynamite 250
Two surprising names answered Mercedes Mone’s open challenge. Everything is being set up for next week.
Two stars from Ring of Honor – Billie Starkz and Athena have shown interest. Mone had issued an open challenge for her AEW TBS Championship at next week’s Dynamite 250. She also added a stipulation that only one person was not eligible for the challenge, and that was Britt Baker.
Billie Starkz, who is the ROH Women’s TV Champion, responded by saying:
“What’s up Mercedes?”
While Athena, who is the ROH Women’s World Champion, wrote:
“Hmmmm... sounds interesting.”
Interestingly, both of them already hold titles in ROH, and if they beat Mercedes Mone next week, they will be double champions.
Mercedes Mone mocked Bret Hart on this week's Dynamite
Mercedes Mone shocked fans when she openly mocked WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart on AEW Dynamite.
The Excellence of Execution was known for his catchphrase that said he was the best wrestler there ever was, ever is, and ever will be. Now, Mone openly used that phrase to describe herself.
“So before we celebrate, I wanna set the record straight about the past, the present, and the future. Because these two titles and everybody here knows that I am the past, the present, and the future. 'Cause I am the best there was, the best there is, and the best that there ever will be,” she said.
It is wild to think how quickly and easily Mercedes has embraced being a heel in AEW. Clearly, fans have not accepted her as a babyface and she has quickly adapted to being the villain.
