Unexpected ending to Claudio Castagnoli’s (fka Cesaro) match on AEW Collision
Former WWE United States Champion Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro) was in action on the most recent episode of AEW Collision, and his match had an unexpected ending. Claudio was in tag team action with Wheeler Yuta.
Claudio Castagnoli has been a workhorse for AEW ever since making his debut in 2022. Furthermore, he has been performing almost every week lately on Tony Khan's promotion.
The 43-year-old star teamed up with his Blackpool Combat Club partner, Wheeler Yuta, to square off against the former AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR, in the opening match of the show. It turned out to be a hard-hitting bout, as expected, with everyone giving it their all in the ring in the pre-determined 20-minute time limit.
However, the time limit ended while Claudio was holding Cash Wheeler in a cross-face. The bout unexpectedly ended in a time-limit draw.
After the match, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood asked for five more minutes, but the match never restarted. Brandon Cutler came out and stated that the match had a time limit, which was mentioned in the contract drawn up. The two teams also teased a rematch before leaving, and it remains to be seen when that happens.
