Unfortunate Mercedes Mone update ahead of AEW All In

Mercedes Mone is set to defend her title against Britt Baker at AEW All In 2024. However, an unfortunate update regarding the TBS Champion has come to light.

Mercedes Mone is one of the biggest female stars in the world of professional wrestling. She signed with AEW a few months ago and hasn't looked back since. She quickly won the TBS Championship from Willow Nightingale and then went on to win the NJPW Strong Women's Championship.

Currently, Mone is involved in a feud with Dr. Britt Baker that started after the latter returned at AEW Forbidden Door. Since then, the two women have taken verbal and physical shots at each other. Mone will defend her TBS Championship at All In on August 25.

Mercedes spoke about All In on her Mone Bag Newsletter stating that she was working on designing the right look for the event.

“All In at Wembley is AEW’s Superbowl, so I’ve been All In prepping here in the States before heading to the UK. Part of the prep is designing the right look for the event, i.e., hair, makeup, and costume,” Mone said.

Mone continued to liken All In to AEW's version of WrestleMania. Despite it being the biggest event of the year for the Jacksonville-based promotion, the CEO's gear for the event was unfortunately not ready yet. However, she was thankful to her crew who were scheduled to arrive in London later and would bring it with them, once it was ready.

"Hopefully, at All In, things will come together and in time. Note, I still haven’t gotten the hair or the gear for All In, and I leave for Wembley on Sunday. Luckily, members of Team Mone are leaving later and will be able to bring my gear to me. I love for all my pay-per-views to be special, but this one is our WrestleMania,” she added. [H/T PWMania]

Mercedes Mone compares WWE WrestleMania and AEW All In

Undoubtedly, All In is AEW's biggest show of the year and many people have even likened it to WrestleMania, although it doesn't carry the same legacy. Hence, there have always been comparisons between both shows.

Mercedes Mone spoke about both shows in her Mone Bags Newsletter. She mentioned that wrestlers are worn down by the time of their match at WrestleMania due to the week-long press events that take place. On the other hand, she still did not know what press and events she would be doing in the UK.

"When you're prepping for WrestleMania, you're kind of worn down by the time you get to the big day, as each day is stacked with press and events. The big difference is that the WWE is in town for a whole week during their event, where we're not in the UK yet. I'm not sure what press and events we will be doing next week, but I'll be sure to do as much as I can to ensure this is promoted as much as possible," said Mercedes Mone.

It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone can retain her AEW TBS Championship against Britt Baker at All In at Wembley Stadium, London, United Kingdom on August 25.
