Unfortunate update on AEW talent's status ahead of Full Gear
AEW Full Gear is right around the corner, and there is a lot of hype for all the names involved. However, there is bad news for one star.
The name in question is Vikingo. Despite having issues with injury, he was initially set to participate in Progress Wrestling’s Vendetta 2 event later this month. That won't be happening, as it has now been confirmed that he has been pulled from the event and will miss the show.
The announcement was made on the company’s Twitter account as they wrote:
“El Hijo Del Vikingo injury update: Despite recovering he will not be ready to compete to the high level he would want for a European debut. We are working on a new date with Vikingo and hope to see him very soon in a PROGRESS ring, hopefully before year end 👀.”
AEW star Vikingo reveals how he got injured
AEW star Vikingo picked up an unfortunate injury on the October 27 tapings of TNA Impact. The injury occurred when while fighting Trent Seven. He hurt his leg while attempting a springboard dive.
After the incident, the officials checked on him and had to stretcher him out of the arena. He later took to Instagram to send out a message to his fans who were concerned for his well-being.
"On Sunday I had a strong blow to my right knee, thank God it did not affect any ligaments or muscles, I have to rest for 5 days while the swelling goes down, then start rehabilitation until I am 100% recovered, I will be out for 15 to 20 days, thanks to @tnawrestling @luchalibreaaa for being attentive, thank you very much, also thanks to everyone who took the time to send me a message, thank you," Vikingo noted.
Fans will hope his injury is not serious and he will make a swift comeback to AEW soon.
