“Unfortunately, we’ve only had the one match” - Bryan Danielson on missing out on the opportunity to face AEW star again

Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan, recently revealed his regret about missing out on the opportunity to face an AEW star again. The star in question is none other than Kenny Omega.

Bryan and then-AEW World Champion Omega competed in a time-limit draw in a non-title bout on the Grand Slam edition of Dynamite. However, that ended in a no contest as the match had exceeded the time limit.

The two men have not been able to wrestle again after that courtesy of untimely injuries. Danielson recently expressed his regret about not being able to compete against The Cleaner while speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.

"Me and Kenny (Omega), unfortunately, we’ve only had the one match. When I came to AEW, I envisioned having these series of matches with Kenny. Instead, it’s been Hangman, and I’ve learned firsthand how incredible he is. Hangman’s the man. That dude’s awesome," Bryan Danielson said. [H/T Sports Illustrated]

Fans would love to see The American Dragon and The Cleaner battle it out one more time in the ring.

Tommy Dreamer wants to see Bryan Danielson win the AEW World Championship before retiring

Bryan Danielson has achieved major accolades but is yet to win the AEW World Championship. Former WWE Superstar Tommy Dreamer wants The American Dragon to win the top prize before hanging up his boots.

Danielson has the chance to do just that after he won the Owen Hart Cup and he will now face AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland at the All In Pay-Per-View at Wembley Stadium this year. Dreamer was speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast when he said:

"Could you see Bryan Danielson, confetti flying, 'Final Countdown' going, and he's your champion, and everyone - fifty/sixty thousand - going 'Yes, yes, yes?' That's gonna be a moment. Honestly - I hope it captures the emotion of Terry Funk [winning the ECW Championship] at Barely Legal."

It will truly be a great moment for the former WWE Superstar if he defeats Swerve to win the AEW World Championship.
