Unseen footage of AEW star Eddie Kingston's horrific injury surfaces online

AEW star Eddie Kingston sustained a severe injury during his match against Gabe Kidd at a major event. A new clip has now emerged online showing the exact moment when he got injured.

The Mad King is known for his fierce promos and hard-hitting wrestling style. At the start of the year, he held three championships from different promotions. He held the ROH World Championship, NJPW's Strong Openweight Championship, and AEW's Continental Championship. However, he lost his titles to Mark Briscoe, Kazuchika Okada, and Gabe Kidd in subsequent matches.

Kidd and Kingston wrestled in a No Rope Last Man Standing match at NJPW Resurgence for the Strong Openweight title. Kingston was suplexed by his opponent through a table outside the ring. However, his leg hit hard on the guard rails near the ring, which resulted in a fracture in his right leg.

A user recently took to X/Twitter and shared the exact moment when Eddie Kingston got injured.

Further reports stated that he had sustained a tubular fracture on his leg. He was also pulled from the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. The Mad King's replacement was revealed to be Darby Allin on last week's Dynamite.

Eddie Kingston reveals his retirement plan

The former Continental Champion has been wrestling for more than 20 years. He has wrestled in top promotions like NJPW, AEW, ROH, and many other independent promotions.

While speaking with WrestlingNewsCo, Eddie Kingston said he would retire after he has completed 30 years in the wrestling industry.

"How long do I have? I don't know. I'm just gonna keep going until my body says no more. Yeah, I would like to reach 30 years because that's an old-school number. Like a lot of old-scool guys back in the day would be like, 30 years is what they wanted. So, like I say, 30 but I'm probably gonna go into and so I can't walk, to be honest with you. Terry Funk's the goat, so I learned from him," he said.

As of now, no timetable for The Mad King's return has been announced.
