Veteran name set to take legal action after being fired from AEW
A recently released AEW name is gearing up to take legal action against ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni.
The name in question is Kevin Kelly, who had a brief tenure in All Elite Wrestling. He was the lead commentator alongside Nigel McGuinness on AEW Collision, however, was removed from television earlier this year after his controversial comments against Riccaboni on X (formerly Twitter). Kevin Kelly was quietly let go by Tony Khan on March 8th.
On X, Kevin Kelly seemingly confirms that he plans on taking legal action against Ian Riccaboni.
"Thats what Ian Riccaboni did to me. Can’t wait for it all to come out in court soon."
In a following tweet, Kelly wrote:
"As soon as my lawyer gets going. Two of them, actually. Lawyers. I never had a lawyer before, let alone two. @TheJimCornette."
Former AEW Commentator Kevin Kelly on working with The Rock in WWE
Former AEW Collision commentator Kevin Kelly is an experienced veteran in professional wrestling. He was signed to the WWE from 1996 to 2003 as a backstage interviewer, where he got to work with huge stars like The Rock, Stone Cold, and more. Speaking on the Insiders Edge podcast, Kevin Kelly opened up about working with The Rock.
"He would say, ‘If I ask you a question, answer it this way.’ Pretty much, that was about it. I would say, ‘I’m going to ask a question.’ I had a motivation. I wanted to ask a pertinent question, and I wanted The Rock to finally say, ‘Kevin, The Rock has been giving you a hard time all these months. The Rock wants to let you know you’re doing a hell of a job, that’s a great question,’ then he gives the answer. That’s what I worked for every time." [H/T: EWrestling News]
The Rock recently competed at WrestleMania XL where he teamed up with Roman Reigns to face Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. The Brahma Bull would go on to pin Cody Rhodes to pick up the victory for his team.
