Watch: AEW's MJF spotted filming leaked Happy Gilmore 2 scene with Adam Sandler

MJF is one of the most recognizable names in the world of professional wrestling today. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, where is a former AEW World Champion, as well as a former AEW International Champion.

MJF is currently filming for the sequel of the hit 1996 sports comedy film, Happy Gilmore: Happy Gilmore 2. The project reportedly sees Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, and Adam Sandler reprise their roles from the first movie. In addition, Margaret Qualley, Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, and Benny Safdie will also star in the movie. Recently, an X user @comiczthingz18 shared a clip of the movie's filming. In it, MJF and Sandler were seen exiting a courthouse.

Happy Gilmore 2's exact release date remains unknown. However, it is speculated to come out on Netflix in early 2025. The project's director and writer are Kyle Newacheck and Tim Herlihy, respectively.

MJF believes that The Iron Claw is an excellent Hollywood adaptation of the art of professional wrestling

Maxwell Jacob Friedman played a small role in the 2023 film, The Iron Claw. Not only did he appear in it as retired professional wrestler Lance Von Erich, but he was also one of the executive producers of the film. In an interview with Comicbook last year, the 28-year-old praised the project for its accurate portrayal of the real-life tragic tale of the Von Erich family and the art of wrestling in general.

"It’s one of the best movie adaptions in regards to professional wrestling. A lot of the time when you watch a professional wrestling movie, you’re cringing because they get everything wrong. They’ll use words in the wrong context. Matches will happen in the wrong way. Someone will get pinned while they’re facing down. It’s a f–king mess. I feel like they really caught the vibe, not only of that generation of professional wrestling, but of professional wrestling as a whole," said Friedman. [H/T: Comicbook]

In the ring, Friedman's last match was against Daniel Garcia at the AEW All Out 2024 Pay-Per-View, which he managed to win.
