WATCH: AEW star narrowly escapes being thrown over a balcony

A top AEW star saved himself from being thrown off the balcony on tonight's Dynamite. The action tonight was intense and the star who managed to escape serious injury was Christian Cage.

The Patriarch has been one of the top heels in the Jacksonville-based promotion. After being aligned with Killswitch for the majority of the time, he is currently leading the Patriarchy stable, which includes Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne, and the latest addition, Kip Sabian.

HOOK has been after the faction after they attacked his father Taz. For weeks, the group outnumbered the former FTW Champion multiple times. On the 'Winter Is Coming' edition of AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage was watching the opening bout between The Death Riders and Jay White and Orange Cassidy.

After the match, Jon Moxley issued a huge challenge at AEW Worlds End pay-per-view where he would defend the title against Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Hangman Page. The former TNT Champion then warned Moxley about his contract, which he could cash in anytime he wanted.

While Cage was cutting a promo while sitting near the balcony, he was attacked by The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil. The latter even tried to throw the star down the balcony but The Patriarch somehow managed to fend him off. He was then saved by Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne.

It will be interesting to see if Christian Cage will take revenge on HOOK for his actions.
