Watch: Jon Moxley briefly broke character immediately after retiring Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream
Jon Moxley won his fourth AEW World Title at WrestleDream after defeating Bryan Danielson. However, the former WWE star seemingly paid respect to The American Dragon after the match ended.
AEW WrestleDream was reportedly the final match of Bryan Danielson as a full-time performer. The veteran has been vocal about the fact that when he loses the world title, he will hang up his boots. The end of Bryan Danielson's full-time career came at the hands of his former best friend Jon Moxley, who didn't hesitate in resorting to some distasteful tactics to become the AEW World Champion.
However, on X (fka Twitter), a fan noted how Jon Moxley seemingly bowed down to Bryan Danielson, in an apparent show of respect, after officially retiring the star from full-time competition.
"After defeating him... Jon Moxley BOWED DOWN to Bryan Danielson as he becomes the man to retire The American Dragon."
AEW star Bryan Danielson on a potential WWE return
The American Dragon had a successful career in WWE but left the promotion in 2021 to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Many have wondered if Bryan Danielson would ever return to the Stamford-based promotion and the veteran recently answered the question.
In a recent chat with Gorilla Postion, Bryan Danielson revealed that he can return to WWE if All Elite Wrestling ever takes over the wrestling industry in the future. Bryan said he would like to offer his creative direction to the WWE and help them fight back against the Jacksonville-based promotion in that scenario.
"I mean, I would never say never, but if I would, it would have to be in a case where I felt like going there was better for the industry. So for example, imagine in ten years, all of a sudden something happened to their creative process and they are just horrible, and AEW has completely taken over and it's become a one-sided business on the other side - yeah, then maybe I would consider it." Bryan Danielson is set to have a long hiatus following his retirement at WrestleDream. It will be interesting to see if the veteran returns to WWE in the coming years.
